(WOODBURY, NY) Vanderbilt Financial Group (“Vanderbilt”) is pleased to announce the addition of Walter Richardson (“Richardson”) to the ranks as a financial advisor.
Richardson, who has more than 18 years of experience in the business, joined from Capital Markets IQ (CMIQ). Prior to this, he worked at Wells Fargo, Epic Insurance, Morgan Stanley, and Prudential Financial.

Vanderbilt’s status as the industry’s only sustainable broker-dealer was a key reason for the move. Impact investing was something that Richardson had wanted to do for quite some time, and he sought a firm with robust resources. Richardson cited Vanderbilt’s marketing department, equipped with a dedicated videographer and graphics designer, to be a key advantage.
Vanderbilt regularly conducts training sessions on impact investing topics such as the cannabis industry. These sessions are available in audio/visual format live, and after the event, in the case that an advisor were to miss the seminar. This goes a long way for advisors who need the knowledge but can’t dedicate time to researching every corner of the market.
At Vanderbilt, Richardson intends to focus on working with clients on alternative investment and long- term care solutions. He feels that given imminent changes in the Medicare marketplace, his expertise will be highly demanded.
