Vanderbilt CEO Steve Distante along with his wife and Chief of Staff Heidi Distante, were the honorees for the 2015 INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network) Luncheon for their dedication to serving the hungry and homeless on Long Island.
In addition to the Distante family’s involvement, Steve and Heidi encouraged their Vanderbilt family to follow suit. For Steve’s 50th birthday, the executive team took to the soup kitchen and served over 300 grateful INN guests.
In their acceptance speech, Steve and Heidi sought to change the designation “Honoree” to “ambassador” to encourage all in attendance to become active supporters for the INN – and so, the INNbassadors movement was born!
Over 20 members of the Vanderbilt family came to the luncheon to show support and many others who couldn’t attend in person became INNbassadors by sponsoring the event. In total, the 2015 INN Luncheon raised $152,060 thanks to all involved.
