Join Us for the John Brower Jr. Foundation’s October Events

In 2014, the Brower Family suffered the tragic loss of John Jr. to an opiate overdose after developing addiction as a result of prescription pain killers prescribed for injuries sustained in a car accident. They created the John Brower Jr. Foundation, Heroes Against Heroin, to spread awareness to this opiate epidemic and help those struggling find the services they need to survive.

John Brower Senior and his son Robert are both registered representatives with Vanderbilt. In 2015, with the support of Vanderbilt, John & Robert along with Mother Jody and sister Kristen created the John Brower Jr Foundation. Since that tie they have raised over $50,000 for the Outreach Project helping those struggling with addition to get the help that they need.

This October, the John Brower Jr. foundation will be holding two events:

3rd Annual 5k Walk at Jones Beach – October 7th

This family friendly day full of fun and healthy exercise was created to raise awareness about substance and alcohol abuse in our communities, and help raise money to end it. Right here on Long Island our neighbors are struggling with addiction. Outreach has been providing services to help these individuals rebuild their lives since 1980. Thousands of adults and adolescents have had their lives transformed by the crucial services we provide, which has positively impacted our community greatly.

To participate in this rain or shine event, simply download and complete the registration form at the link below (be sure to have it signed by a parent/guardian if under 18) and return it to the address stated below as soon as possible. You can also register online by going to www.eventbrite.com, then Click on the TICKETS Button at the top right of the page. While applications will be accepted the day of the event, preregistration is strongly encouraged.

1st Annual Golf Outing – October 9th

John Jr. loved golf, so what better way to honor him and raise money and awareness than through a beautiful day of golf. All donations will benefit the Outreach Project, which provides life-changing drug and alcohol abuse treatment services. Our outing will take place at Clearview Park Golf Course on October 9th beginning with lunch at noon and tee off at 12:45 followed by a cocktail reception, dinner, and raffles. Come out and play a round with the Heroes Against Heroine!
