Chief Compliance Officer
Barry joined Vanderbilt Financial Group in May of 2005 before assuming the role of Chief Compliance Officer in June of 2007. Barry’s most integral responsibility is to protect our advisors and their clients and comply with the procedures and conventions of our regulatory bodies. Barry continually protects the integrity of the firm as an experienced and trusted member of the industry. He is most passionate about helping investors create a secure financial future and representatives to maintain a clean book of business.
Barry is a graduate of Chaminade High School in Mineola, New York and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Before joining Vanderbilt Financial Group, Barry worked at Janney Montgomery Scott. He has been in the financial industry since 1981, as a Registered Representative and Branch Office Manager with several FINRA and NYSE firms.
Barry is happily married for over 40 years with three grown children and two grandchildren. He has served as Vice President and President of the Chaminade Alumni Association, as well as a Co-Chairperson of the St. James Church Building Committee in Seaford. He also Co-Founded “People Against Chlordane” in the 1980’s and was recently recognized by the non-profit, The Giraffe Heroes Project, for sticking his neck out in the fight against the toxic pesticide and for successfully having Chlordane, Aldrin and Dieldrin banned not only in New York State but throughout the United States. Barry also served as a special committee member to Governor Mario Cuomo regarding pesticide use in New York State. Barry is now the proud Chairman of the Long Island Catholic Men’s Ministry, and a dedicated Lector and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Massapequa Park, where he and his wife Mary serve as Co-directors of the Pre Cana program.
